Welcome to the Department of Education!
Southwest Tennessee Community College offers courses and programs in child development, education, home management, human services, teaching and substance abuse counseling.
Our wide range of certificates and degrees are designed to serve the needs of our students and the community. Furthermore, we provide degrees and other avenues through which our students may effectively continue their education at many of the excellent colleges and universities in our region.
Community college students who are enrolled in the AST Degree program and other Education Areas of Emphasis (A.A. and A.S. Degrees) and scheduled to graduate in May 2008 must have completed criminal background checks before being approved for admission to Colleges of Education at TBR universitites.
Student who plan to transfer to University of Tennessee (UT) institutions should contact the institutions directly for information on how to fulfill the background check in the UT system.
